Course: Spirits, Fermented, and Non-alcoholic Beverage.
Steve Mercer is a seasoned hospitality professional with over three decades of experience in the food and beverage industry in the Napa Valley and Central Coast of California. His time in the industry included fast casual, fine dining, resort management, and as managing partner of Stax Social Eatery. In pursuit of continuous growth, Steve pursued advanced coursework at Sonoma State University, researching Restaurant Communication and its impact on service quality and profitability in pursuit of a master’s degree in Organizational Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sonoma State University and an Associate of Arts from Napa Valley College.
Currently serving as assistant professor at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Steve imparts his wealth of knowledge to future industry leaders. With a diverse portfolio of courses taught, ranging from Hospitality Management, Formal Restaurant Service, to Principles of Menus and Managing Profitability, and Gastronomy, Steve inspires students with practical insights and real-world experience.
As Steve continues to educate the next generation of hospitality professionals, his passion for excellence remains unwavering, driving positive change and innovation in the dynamic landscape of food and beverage.
