Amber Brodie Sorondo

Amber Brodie Sorondo is a Liberal Arts Instructor at CIA, with years of experience in academia, writing, and education. She has her Bachelor of Arts in English at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. While in school, Amber’s passion for education was sparked when she spent time teaching, tutoring, and mentoring with an NGO in Tanzania. Amber went on to achieve a MFA in Creative Writing at Fresno State, while working as a tutor with an occupational therapist. During this time, she also served on the editorial board for the distinguished Philip Levine Prize and The Normal School, and she led workshops at the Young Writer’s Conference. Prior to joining CIA, Amber held positions as a writing professor at Fresno State, Fresno City College, Napa Valley College, and Santa Rosa Junior College. She is also an accomplished poet, with her work featured in publications such as the Academy of American Poets, Mud Season, Glassworks, Foothill: a Journal of Poetry, and others. In 2015, Amber returned to her hometown of Sonoma County, CA, where she currently resides with her family.
