Faculty Bio

Katherine Miller is a proven expert in helping foundations, nonprofits, and socially responsible companies connect with consumers, activists, and other partners through strategic programs and communications. She has been named a School of Media and Public Affairs 2022–23 Terker Distinguished Fellow at The George Washington University in Washington, DC and is the principal and founder of Table 81, also located in the nation’s capital.

Katherine spent several years as the James Beard Foundation’s vice president of impact, working with food system leaders to create new and innovative programs that address gender equity, sustainability, food waste, and child nutrition. She was also managing director and senior vice president for philanthropy and advocacy at Hattaway Communications and executive director of communications and public affairs for the United Nations Foundation, both in DC; senior media officer for TIAA-CREF; and an independent communications consultant in both Washington and Melbourne, Australia.

Dedicated to meaningful service, Katherine sits on the boards of RAINN, the national sexual assault hotline; New Venture Fund; Butterfly PAC, a super PAC focused on poverty; and the National Prison Food Project. She is also an active member of Les Dames d’Escoffier. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing/Poetry from The Loyola University of New Orleans in Louisiana.
